Program in Pirovac cinema hall:
During the first two days, we will show a selection of very interesting short and long documentary films in Pirovac cinema hall, from 19:00 to 20:50. On the last day of the festival, you can see a Polish film for children and whole family "Behind the Blue Door". This spectacular and imaginative film with elements of fairy-tale and fantasy is the most successful and awarded Polish movie for young viewers.
Program in Rudina square:
The open-air screenings in Rudina square will start every night at 21:00 with a top selection of short films. A large variety of themes and genres through these films will guarantee a great time in front of the silver screen. Among them, you can also see several short documentaries and animated films, for example Spanish film "Cuerdas", an absolute record holder with more than 300 festival awards.
Every night, the end of the program is reserved for a Croatian premiere of a feature film. On August 2, we are going to show "The Place" by noted Italian director Paolo Genovese, whose previous film "Perfect Strangers" was a huge hit of the first edition of DFF. Genovese is back with another film with intriguing concept and a superb cast of actors. It's a highly unusual drama about the human nature, good and evil and limits that some people are ready to cross in order to fulfill their greatest desires.
On August 3, at 22:20 you can see a hilarious Bulgarian comedy "Holiday Makers", about the misadventures of a group of tourists and their hosts in a summer resort on Black Sea.
We close the festival in Pirovac with Swiss-Austrian-Polish co-production "Animals" ("Tiere"), by Polish director Greg Zglinski. This excellent, darkly comic and stylish psychological thriller has received lot of praise and comparisons with works of Alfred Hitchcock, Roman Polanski and David Lynch.
See you in Pirovac!
